“Snow for Spring” is a 24 × 24 inch original contemporary painting created in 2026 using acrylic and natural earth paints. Part of the ongoing “Paintings as Portals” series, this piece was inspired by a heavy snow we had in Asheville earlier this year.
I go for a walk at dawn every day to center myself down by the river, and at this time of day, the light on the snow reminded me of the pink tint of flowers in spring. The dawn light was telling me that these other colors in the universe were about to come out for the upcoming season, and were already doing so through the snow.
