“Snow for Spring” is a 24 × 24 inch original contemporary painting created in 2026 using acrylic and natural earth paints. Part of the ongoing “Paintings as Portals” series, this piece was inspired by a heavy snow we had in Asheville earlier this year.
I walk at dawn every day to center myself by the river, and at this time of day, the light on the snow was so beautiful. I saw the pink tint of flowers in spring. The dawn light was telling me that these other colors exist in the universe and draw me through the seasons, calling me forward through the thresholds.
